Building Code amended to make it cheaper and easier to build a log home - eliminating the requirement for an energy audit, and replacing it with a simple minimum thickness requirement for exterior log walls


Changes to the Agriculture Policy constituents asked for including 'one for one' land pricing (matching cost to value of the land)

Negotiated Growing Forward 2 federal funding

Land set aside for future Agriculture infrastructure under a lease with Yukon Agricultural Association

Increased funding for Fireweed Community Market & Yukon Agricultural Association

Purchased mobile abattoir, no-till drill & other equipment

Health & Social Services:

$12.7 million Health Human Resource Strategy to increase access to family physicians, nurses & other health professionals - including bursary programs for Yukon students

More medical specialist services available locally

Telehealth network expanded to include all nursing stations & hospitals

Increased funding for Whitehorse General Hospital

Increased the Travel for Medical Treatment Subsidy

Negotiated federal funding to reduce Health Care Wait Times

New Zoning Regulations for Ibex Valley, Mayo Road, Hot Springs Road, and Deep Creek areas

Making amendments to zoning regulations supported by a majority of land owners in the area - including allowing rural residential lot owners in the Mayo Road area, Hotsprings Road area, and Ibex Valley to subdivide

Streamlined delivery of land-related services by moving Land Planning Branch under Department of Energy, Mines and Resources

Resource Management:

North Yukon Land Use Plan completed and approved by Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation and the Yukon Government when Brad was Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources

Quartz Mining Act amended to implement competitive royalty rates

Quartz Mining Act amended to reduce unnecessary costs to business - including allowing claim tags to be purchased in advance, and reducing the minimum size of claim posts

Democratic Improvements:

As Minister of Justice, tabled amendments to the Elections Act which received unanimous support in the Legislative Assembly, including increasing voting opportunites for Yukoners with more flexible special ballot provisions

Moved the motion establishing the Yukon's first All-Party Committee on Appointments to Boards and Committees

Championed direct consultation by Members of the Legislative Assembly with Yukon citizens on major legislative initiatives, including
serving on the All-Party Committee on Anti-Smoking Legislation (the first Committee of the Legislature in recent history to hold public hearings), and the All-Party Committee on Off-Road Vehicle Use
