Rob McIntyre, a leading member of the Yukon\u2019s mining community, announced today that he is supporting Brad Cathers in his campaign to lead the Yukon Party and become the next premier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u201cI have known Brad Cathers for 17 years, and I am pleased to support Brad in his campaign for Leadership of the Yukon Party,\u201d said Rob McIntyre. \u201cBrad\u2019s experience as Minister for a long list of departments including Energy, Mines and Resources will help a government under his leadership hit the ground running. He\u2019s a terrific choice for taking the Yukon forward into a future where we have both economic prosperity and a healthy environment,\u201d added McIntyre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Brad\u2019s vision for improving assessment and permitting in the Yukon if elected Leader of the Yukon Party includes working with all other levels of government and with the business community to find solutions to reduce overlap, duplication and unnecessary delays, while ensuring environmentally responsible mining and reclamation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Rob McIntyre, a 40-year Yukoner and father of three children, is former President of the Yukon Chamber of Mines, Chair of the Yukon Chamber of Commerce, and Chair of the Yukon Gold Mining Alliance. After co-founding and running Access Consulting Group for many years out of Whitehorse, Rob was Vice President, Corporate Affairs &amp; Business Development for Alexco Resource Corp, operator of the Bellekeno Silver Mine at Keno Hill. Rob is currently President &amp; CEO, Resource Strategies Inc. based at Marsh Lake, Yukon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Before being elected MLA and for a few years after, Brad worked in the private sector and was part-owner of a wilderness tourism business. His experience in government includes serving in Cabinet for 8 \u00bd years.
